ESG - CORPORATE SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY

 

We are a company based on customer satisfaction and positive references from our clients. We help our customers materialize their vision of how to present their products and offer them a uniquely comprehensive package of "turnkey" services. For us, responsibility and sustainability are not just words - they are an integral part of our business. We support our employees, participate in community-wide activities and take action to protect the environment. Addressing these topics is a high priority and thus requires a pragmatic approach, i.e. not just with empty promises on paper, but with a full commitment to our responsibility towards nature, towards customers and, last but not least, towards ourselves and therefore towards our employees.

 

We understand social responsibility as our company's approach to these three basic topics: care for the environment (environment), care for employees (social) and care for clients, ethical and transparent behavior (governance).

 

In the field of environmental care

We are trying to moderate our impact on the environment in the long term by continually looking for opportunities where we can use greener solutions. 

First of all, we are the proud holders of a quality management certification (ISO 9001), the audit of which we have consistently passed each year with top ratings. We’ve dedicated several areas of our company to the management of this system, including a quality manager, internal regulations and strategic planning. All necessary processes are held to a high standard with thorough internal guidelines and work procedures, which we regularly update and modify. Our operations inside all of our buildings (administration, production, logistics and storage) keep up with the highest ecological standards of today. We recycle waste and leftover materials (plastic, paper, metals, glass, and organic waste), ecologically dispose of electronic waste and carefully sort through this waste using large-volume containers.

Generally, we try to use as little material as possible. Any scraps of boards are sorted and disposed of through certified companies according to waste type. These matters are enshrined in our internal regulations: Directive: Q2 P5-04 Environmental protection, and Workflow: Q3 A-27 Waste management. We’re also proud members of a global recycling program called EKO-KOM that ensures the combined fulfillment of the obligations of take-back and utilization of packaging waste.

As for the technological preparation of orders, we deal with material savings and the use of ecological production P4-02 – Technological preparation of the product. For electricity production, we harness energy from our own photovoltaics and provide a portion of the company’s fleet of electric vehicles.

 

In the field of employee care

Hiring people is one thing, keeping them is another. Our goal is to be a sought-after and preferred employer, as employees are worth their weight in gold for our company. That means employee loyalty and satisfaction comes first. 

We are committed to the education and personal development of every last one of us. As part of that development, we organize internal and external trainings that increase the knowledge and proficiency of our employees, as well as giving them more confidence to succeed in their jobs. It is common for employees to fulfill additional roles in the company or advance to managerial positions as a result of this professional development. Employees are taken care of from recruitment to onboarding, where each is assigned a mentor who guides them through the early days of training and employment. At the end of the trial period, there is an evaluation session given and by the end of the calendar year, a larger evaluation session where both the supervisor and employee provide feedback and set goals for the upcoming period. 

We allow and encourage flexible and hybrid forms of work, thereby striving to balance the personal and work lives of our employees. This is especially helpful for creating an equal workplace where men and women can prioritize both their families and their jobs. We help pay for summer camps for the children of our employees and organize joint teambuilding events that are family friendly (St. Nicholas’ Day, Christmas parties, end of schoolyear parties). 

As a whole, we are committed to creating equal opportunities for men and women and pay for all in the workplace. We see social sustainability in our fair and equal approach towards all partners and employees, as well as in active involvement in socially beneficial activities. In the field of client care

Governance refers to the way we honor the desires of owners or other interest groups (stakeholders). It creates a layer between the owners and the management of the organization and ensures that the interests of the owners are protected. Governance that is well-executed increases this protection over owner investments and fulfillment of legal obligations. Through a well-planned strategic approach, it can help set goals and internal regulations and set the rules of ethical and transparent behavior – especially towards customer care.

For clients, our mission statement is: „We are a reliable partner that will help you materialize and fulfill your ideas.“ We like to describe our cooperation with clients with the following terms:

When it comes to ethics, compliance with Czech and internationally recognized standards for responsible behavior, sustainability, fairness, ethical conduct and reporting is essential to us. We adhere to the Ten Basic Ethical Rules and are committed to complying with the Rules of Ethical Conduct through the Code of Ethics. We also have a supplier diversity program where we select top suppliers for each commodity and evaluate them annually; these are maintained in a database of suppliers (Guideline P4-03 Purchase).

 

In 2023 the Law on the Protection of Whistleblowers came into effect along with the CSRD Directive, which sets ESG standards for the sustainable development of business. It may seem that there are two different standards, but the opposite is true - they complement each other. Properly implemented whistleblowing plays a vital role in uncovering risks that threaten ESG principles. The Act on the Protection of Whistleblowers (whistleblowing) introduced the so-called "whistleblower protection", which ensures the possibility to safely report misconduct within companies, whether it is criminal activity, problems at the workplace, lack of transparency, unethical company management or environmental damage. Whistleblowing therefore significantly helps to reduce risks in individual ESG areas. It gives all interested parties (employees, suppliers, etc.) a tool (internal reporting system or whistleblowing platform) in their hands that allows them to get involved and participate in the sustainable development of the company without fear of retaliation. This promotes ethical behavior, responsible corporate governance and a culture of transparency.
